Ingredient List

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup organic 70% dark chocolate chips (¼ cup reserved for drizzle)

¾ cup crushed walnuts

4 Tablespoons just better.® Prebiotic Fiber

1 medium ripe organic banana, mashed

½ cup unsweetened organic applesauce

1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

1 teaspoon cinnamon 

Pinch of salt

Directions

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, dark chocolate chips, crushed walnuts, and a pinch of salt.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, blend the mashed banana, unsweetened applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add just better.® Prebiotic Fiber and blend well. 

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until everything is evenly moistened and sticks together when pressed.

Press and Chill: Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Transfer the mixture to the pan, pressing it firmly into place. 

Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours until the squares are set.

Dark Chocolate Drizzle 

Ingredients

Reserved dark chocolate chips (about ¼ cup)

1 tablespoon coconut oil

Directions for Chocolate Drizzle:

Melt the Chocolate: Combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-30 second bursts, stirring between each burst, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate and coconut oil together using a double boiler on the stove.

Prepare for Drizzling: Once melted and smooth, let the chocolate mixture cool slightly, just so it’s still liquid but not too hot. This will make the drizzling process easier and prevent the squares from softening too much when you apply the chocolate.

Drizzle Over Squares: Use a spoon to drizzle the melted chocolate mixture over your chilled oat squares. You can create any pattern you like—zigzag lines or swirls—or simply pour it over with a light hand for a more rustic look.

Set the Chocolate: Return the squares to the refrigerator for a few minutes to allow the chocolate drizzle to set.

This chocolate drizzle will add a touch of elegance and a flavor boost to your oat squares, making them even more irresistible!

Slice and Serve: Using the parchment paper, remove the set mixture from the pan, place it on a cutting board, and cut it into squares.
